Antidoping Switzerland has suspended Cory Conacher after failing to submit a request for an exemption permit to take insulin. This happened when the Canadian joined SC Bern in February. The 31-year-old requires the substance - which is on the doping list - for health reasons.

The three-month suspension has been issued retroactively starting May 5, meaning the Bears can count on their forward again before long. In addition, the forward has been fined CHF 2,500.-.

For the 2021-22 season, the permit has been requested in time, making Conacher eligible to play.
