In the last seconds of Game 4 of the quarterfinals series between Lausanne HC and HC Davos, Cody Almond checked Davyd Barandun to the head from the blind side. Barandun did not have the puck and could not see Almond approaching. For these reasons, the single judge decided to sanction Almond with a five-game suspension and a fine of CHF 7'600.-. For tonight's Game 5 in Lausanne, Barandun is out of HC Davos' lineup due to injury.
