MEDICAL REPORT - Bad goalie luck for the Colorado Avalanche: Reto Berra, who filled in for injured starting netminder Semyon Varlamov, had to leave tonight’s game following a collision with Senators’ forward Kyle Turris after only 2:46 minutes of play.

According to the Denver Post, the 27-year-old Swiss international had to leave the ice with what seems to be a head or neck injury and after further evaluation did not return to play. He was replaced by emergency call-up Calvin Pickard, who made his NHL debut tonight.

UPDATE Because of his neck injury, Reto Berra is doubtful for Saturday's road game against the Montréal Canadiens. This is what Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports on Twitter. - 17 October 2014, 8:41 PM
