As Beat Gerber tells the Berner Zeitung, as long as he feels good enough to play he will not retire. Next week, Gerber, his agent, and Alex Chatelain will get together to discuss his future. As of today, he does not know what SC Bern's plan is. He was also not willing to answer the question of whether he would change teams in this late stage of his career.

Gerber is currently recovering from the three surgeries and, with that, the three general anesthesia he underwent. The defenseman suffered from compartment syndrome which, if not treated within six hours, can lead to permanent muscle or nerve damage. "Fortunately, they reacted immediately, it was a race against time," Gerber, whose comeback is scheduled for the beginning of December, revealed.
