HC Fribourg-Gottéron announced the contract extension of their captain Julien Sprunger yesterday. They are, however, not yet done for this offseason.

As team manager and head coach Christian Dubé tells La Liberté, he is also working on finding their sixth import player and finding Yannick Herren a new team: "For the foreign player, the situation depends on the upcoming movements in NHL. For Yannick, we are trying to find a solution, but several teams currently have a surplus of players."

Herren only played 17 games for HC Fribourg-Gottéron last season and was even loaned to HC Lugano in November 2021. He recorded two goals and one assist in nine regular-season games for them. In the postseason he put up two assists in four games.
