The National League team has acquired an import forward - only their second official addition for next season so far.

Jesper Frödén has been signed to a two-year deal by the ZSC Lions. The Swede was a part of the Seattle Kraken's organization last season, mainly suiting up for their AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

"Jesper is a very agile winger with good speed and distinct scoring qualities", team manager Sven Leuenberger states. "As a righthand shooter, Jesper will be valuable for our powerplay. He can also play shorthanded and is therefore very versatile."

During his two-year stint in North America, Frödén first was a member of the Boston Bruins - playing in the AHL for Provincede for the most part - before joining the Kraken last summer. In total, the 28-year-old made 22 games in the NHL (one goal, four assists) and 108 in the AHL (46 goals, 45 assists). The early steps in Frödén's career took place in the Allsvenskan, followed by two seasons in the SHL with Skellefteå.

With this acquisition, the Lions have four import players signed. They plan on adding two more forwards.
