Is Victor Backman off to the SHL?
According to the Swedish podcast Sanny & Svensson (relayed by expressen.se), Victor Backman has an out-clause in his contract with the GCK Lions that he might activate in order to sign with the Malmö Redhawks and return to Sweden after two years in Switzerland. For the upcoming season, therefore, the Lions would only have one import-player, Ryan Hayes (
), under contract.
Over the course of these last two seasons, Backman recorded 78 points in 59 games with the GCK. Moreover, he also collected twelve points in 18 games with the ZSC Lions.
