The Moncton Wildcats did not participate in today's CHL Import Draft because they already filled the limit of two European players on their roster for next season. Those spots will be occupied by Swiss defender Simon Le Coultre and Russian forward Alexander Khovanov.

"With Le Coultre, he was really good from Christmas on and he got better and better as the playoffs progressed. That really solified our decision to bring him back next season as a 19-year-old," Moncton's interim director of hockey operations Ritchie Thibeau tells the Telegraph-Journal.

Le Coultre, who is a product of Lausanne HC, was selected 39th overall in the 2016 CHL Import Draft by the Wildcats and will thus rejoin them in late summer for the third straight year. This past season, the U20-Swiss international managed to score 28 points (five goals, 23 assists) in a total of 73 games.
