Put on waivers by his former QMJHL team, the Armada de Blainville-Broisbriand, Axel Simic has been claimed off that list and signed by the Moncton Wildcats (relayed by SwissHabs).​

The 17-year-old forward, who had been drafted 18th overall by the Armada in last year's CHL Import Draft, thus joins the Moncton Wildcats, where also his former teammate in Lausanne Simon Le Coultre is currently playing.

This term thus far, Simic appeared in 31 games for Blainville-Broisbriand, in which he managed to put up three goals and 13 assists.
