While Bomo Thun had a dream start to the season, Lugano did not meet their own expectations in the first couple of games. A few days before the start of the championship, they lost their head coach Marzio Brambilla, who stepped down out of "disappointment".

While the Bianconera only lost to Thun after a shootout on Saturday - Bomo's new acquisition Leslie Oles (photo) tied the game with 48 seconds left in the third period and then scored the decisive goal in the shootout -, they did not stand a chance against last year's champion, the ZSC Lions, and lost 0-5.

The Neuchâtel Hockey Academy has also had a good start to the season. They managed to secure two victories against SC Weinfelden and only lost their third game in overtime. Next Saturday, the ZSC Lions and EV Bomo Thun will face each other and Neuchâtel will play against Lugano.
