"I had some discussions with other clubs but my priority was always to stay here", says the 34-year-old defenseman. "We have done some great things over the past two seasons, and everything leads me to believe that it will be the same in the future."

The captain of the Lions has been part of the organisation since 2013 and has appeared in 123 games for them, scoring eight goals and 31 assists. His contract will run through 2018.

In other news, team manager Jan Alston is close to finding a solution for Caryl Neuenschwander, as he tells the same source. However, the forward himself is not as optimistic as Alston: "Unless it meets all my conditions, i do not think I will get involved with another club." (mso)
